Explain how he tries to convince Jefferson ( the aim of Grant speech; how does he define
himself; how he denounce)?

Grant tries to motivate Jefferson to write a note in which he accuses the judges and it justice
system as well as the rulers of America of being in favor of white people. It was established
that black people doesn't belong to the human race. So in order to convince him to write
the note he uses repetitions like “he” “I” “you” “I want you”… he also uses rhetorical
questions. By doing so, he teaches Jefferson a lesson about how white people discriminate
black people, he also teaches him what it means to be a hero and that Jefferson can be one,
by being braver than the rest.

Do you think Grant has convinced him?

Yes I do think that Grant convinced Jefferson since he even cried he was motivated and
decided he has to do the right thing even though it's not easy.

Explain what type of hero Jefferson could be.

I think Jefferson could be the type of hero that changes the way the world see some types of
things. In fact he can change how black people are treated by white people, thanks to
Jefferson white people will see him standing up to his oppressors and defending black
people, with doing so, they will realize that black people are humans do and that will have
to make changes to treat them as humans beings.

Explain the title of the book.

By this title means that Jefferson has learned a lesson before being murdered. He learns he
needs to be strong and that his death will not be in vain, that it will have a impact by
establishing racial equality in America.
