Topic: FocusOne Architecture

Sanworl’s FocusOne Architecture is the distributed platform on which the Focus Analyzer post processing and
analysis tools are built.

This article describes the components, architecture, and benefits of the FocusOne platform.

FocusOne Components
The FocusOne Architecture has multiple components that work together to form a powerful distributed system.

Focus Analyzer Desktop – A rich and comprehensive Windows

application, providing a complete set of features for deep data
analysis, troubleshooting, and many layers of customization. Data
can be stored locally or stored in one or many server nodes in the
FocusOne cluster. Configurations and settings can be shared
easily with other engineers.

Focus Analyzer Web – A web-based application with a comprehensive

set of features for reporting, dashboards, and analysis of data. Access
is controlled with user groups and privileges. Configurations from the
Desktop application can be shared and used to set options and views.
Working environments can be private, and the web application can be
viewed from your PC with a browser, or from a mobile device.

Focus Analyzer Desktop Viewer – A light version of the Focus Analyzer Desktop application, allowing you to view
data and reports.

Focus Analyzer Services – The Analyzer Services are a fully scalable set of functions that run as a Windows
service on your laptop or in a cluster server node. Nodes are “plug & play”, and provide distributed storage,
processing, and automated data import with report generation.

Database – FocusOne uses the no cost and powerful PostgreSQL, which is an advanced open source
relational database for storing data locally or in the cloud.

Architecture
Together any combination of the components makes a powerful ecosystem for analyzing drive and walk tests
and big data. Components can be added or removed from your FocusOne system as needed. Up to 255 nodes
are supported in the system. Servers are Windows based and can be installed on your servers or in your
preferred cloud environment.

Key Benefits of the FocusOne Architecture

✓ Massive parallelism with distributed processing for big data support
✓ Automated and unattended data import and report generation
✓ Distributed storage with disk management automation
✓ Connect or disconnect any node at any time; linear scalability
✓ Multiple levels of options for viewing data and reports
✓ Free database; no additional cost as found with other solutions
✓ Data access control mechanisms with concepts of Private and Public data

Private and Public Data

Throughout the FocusOne platform, you will see the concepts of “Private” and “Public” environment.

Private environment includes imported data and configurations such as scripts, OLAP cubes, report templates,
dashboard, and view profiles to be saved on the local machine and only accessible to the local user.

Public environment allows one or more users to access both data and configurations from a shared computer
cluster. Private data can be easily transformed into Public data as needed, to share with a team.
