Meaning: The painting shows numerous trees of different varieties and thus it was titled
“Nature’s fighting soldiers” because a land field with many trees protects the soil from erosion,
flooding, and sometimes used as a barrier from wind. It seems like the trees are the ones
guarding and defending the land.
Elements and Principles of Painting:

 Lines and direction of lines: thick, thin, long, vertical lines; depicts respectability,
endurance, and alertness.
 Shapes: organic shapes; leaves and branches.
 Color: analogous colors – orange, yellow, green
 Hue: primary hue; yellow and secondary hues; green, orange
 Value: tint; lightness
 Intensity: decreased
