THE BUTCHER OF PLAINFIELD-SCRIPT

Student: David Esteban Jimenez Cudris

Hello! Everybody mi name is David, and today I’m going to tell you a real story of a killer.
On July 26, 1984, Ed Gein, a serial killer dies of complications from cancer, in Wisconsin
prison at age 77. His story served as the inspiration for movies like "Psycho", and "Texas
chainsaw massacre."

Although this man looked like a kind and amiable person; he hid the personality of a
psychopath. Edward Theodore Gein was born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, on August 27,
1906, to a dysfunctional family his father was an alcoholic who mistreated his children
when he fought with her wife.

His mother a dominant and controlling woman never show any affection, Ed hadn't any
relation with any child, even any other person because his mother said that everyone was
a threat to his moral purity. It went like that for 39 years until his mother died.

Now we have a man alone, dependable, depressed and repressed. In 1974, the horror
started; at Plainfield, a small town of 700 people. A man who was hanging out in a tavern
got a big surprise when he found the ground full of blood.

He noticed that Mary Hogan; the tavern owner had got lost. Time after, the sheriff found
her dead body outside the tavern; apparently, the woman got dragged away after killed.
Time after, everybody was wondering if it has been a robbed or who murdered the woman.

One month after; a man was telling the case with another man who lived close to the town,
his name was Ed Gein, well known as an alone working man, In 1957 the Bertniz warren's
hardware store was close, and its owner didn't appear anywhere. Ed had murdered her,
but this time was different because there was a witness, the book of the account which tell
that Ed was the last person who enters the store.
Ed Gein got arrested and his house registered, the officers had to enter with flashlights
because there wasn't light, as soon as they enter, they perceived a rotten smell, the official
felt like something touch his shoulder, when he turned around he found the decapitated
body of Berniz Warren with a deep hole in his stomach and hanging from the ceiling.
Once they recovered from the evident traumatic situation, they decided to investigate
everything like in a more detailed way, there was any doubt that this man was mentally
disrupted. That house was such a complete mess, there was garbage everywhere, and
you're not going to believe this, there were skulls matches by half which he used as cups
for drinking or a dish for eating. That is not all, the police officers also found chairs made
with human skin, lamp screens, knives, baskets made with human bones, clothes like vest
and belts made by human nipples.
that's horrific, they also found a box which inside has body parts, a human head and a
heart; unfortunately, they never recognized those dead bodies. He also had made a
collection of nine masks made by human skin which were hanging in his bedroom. The
unique room in that house that seemed absurdly normal was her mother's bedroom.
When he was called to testify, he said that he killed Berniz warren but he didn't remember
any other murder, the dead bodies they have found, he had taken them from the cemetery.

the psychiatrists determined that Ed Gein suffered a complex mental disorder which he
acquired during his childhood, he always was intending to win his mother's love as he
never could then he developed a personality disorder, I mean he loved his mother but at
the same time, he hated her, If we analyze the women he murdered they looked like his
mother, finally he died On July 26, 1984, after being held in a psychiatric prison.
