COVID-19 has brought an opportunity for Walton to strengthen its brand.

Walton has extended

its support to the government for ongoing battle against the deadly coronavirus pandemic. It has
donated Taka 30 million to the Prime Minister’s relief fund to combat the spreading of COVID-
19. Walton is initially providing FDA and CE certified 5,000 units of each Cover off Protective
Suit, Disposable Medical Mask, Safety Goggles and Head Cap; 5,000 pairs of each Disposable
Gloves as well as Shoe Cover; and hand sanitizer to the government hospitals for doctors and
healthcare workers. The organization is supplying a total of 65,000 PPEs (personal protective
equipment) among healthcare workers. Besides, Walton is going to produce several kinds of life-
saving medical devices (ventilators) in its factories.

Mentioning the important and outstanding contribution of police in the ongoing battle against
Covid-19, the Walton Group has awarded Tk. 1 lakh to each of the families of the policemen,
who died after being infected by the novel coronavirus while performing their duties. In addition,
Walton is paying over Tk. 7.5 crore to the government’s Workers’ Welfare Fund. It has
disbursed Tk. 770 million among its employees from its profits for the period of 2018-19 amid a
countrywide lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus. The company has already donated Tk.
1 million to Bidyanondo Foundation, an education favorable voluntary organization providing
education, shelter, nutrition, healthcare, and legal aid to the impoverished. Besides, the company
has been conducting awareness and sensitization campaigns at around 20,000 points at a time
across the country.

With strong persuasion of Walton, the Republic of China (Taiwan) has provided different sorts
of medical items to Bangladesh to assist the country preventing coronavirus or COVID-19
outbreaks. The medical items which include 1 lakh pieces surgical mask, 1600 pieces N95 mask,
10,000 face shields, 500 pieces personal protective suite (PPE), 200 pieces goggles and two set
of ventilators, were given through Walton.
