RE: Temperature Screening Policy Change

Dear Children’s Center Families,

This memo is regarding The Alameda County Health Department’s recent update concerning temperature
threshold when a child becomes ill in a Child Care Program. In our previous communication, a child was
sent home if their temperature reached 100.4 degrees or higher; however, according to the Alameda
County Health Department and Community Care Licensing this has been updated to 100.0 degrees. This
means if a child’s temperature reaches 100 degrees or higher, a call will be made to have them picked up
from the LLESA Children’s Center. The child will not be re-admitted until they have been symptom free,
without any medication, for 3 consecutive days and can provide a note from their physician allowing
them to return.

Please initial you have read the above Memo and understand the change to our policy.
