8th Grade Georgia Studies

Introductory Podcast #1
Good Morning Class. My name is Ms. Rensel and I will be your 8th Grade
Georgia History Teacher for this year yay. To start off this Podcast, do you
guys want to hear a joke?? What?? I can’t hear you?? Ok, ok I will tell you a
joke only if you promise to laugh while you have your headphones on. Did
you hear the joke about the Liberty Bell?… Yeah, it cracked me up!..... No
nothing, ok how bout this one. What did the Confederate flag say to the
Union flag?… Nothing. It waved! Haha, that one is my favorite. Speaking of
the Confederate and the Union, we will be learning about those topics
throughout this first semester. As you already know, this year you will be
taking Georgia History as it is a course requirement for all 8th graders. We
will be learning about Georgia during the 1500’s up until Present day. We
will be discussing the settlement of Georgia, Georgia as a radical Southern
State, and the Industrialization and Modernization of Georgia into the state
it is today. This course will be so much fun as we are learning about our
home state and how ti came to be the state it is today. You will also be able
to make connections to Georgia if you were born in Georgia as this class will
be very familiar to you and even your families. For example, I love teaching
this course because I know where all of the famous landmarks and
geographical features are located because I have been to about 90% of all of
them!! Anyways, we will have so much fun in this class this year as it will
take us through the history of our homeland state. This class will be
designed through a semester based schedule and there will be plenty of
opportunities for you guys to spread your wings in this class. I look forward
to meeting all of you and of course, do not be afraid to reach out to me if
you have any questions or concerns. See you guys soon!
