INTRODUCTION

The Programme (PEA JEUNES) aims to support the development of viable enterprises
managed by young men and women in productive agro-pastoral sectors,in order to develop
efficient agriculture, combat rural poverty and improve food security.

In an effort to ensure the sustainability of the enterprises promoted by these young

Cameroonians and the continuation of the Programme's activities, incubation structures will
have to provide coaching services to these young people for a period of up to 18 months. The
aim will be to provide targeted assistance to enable the young Economic operators; implement
the business plan, monitor the credit disbursement plan and establish management tools,
support the formalization of the youth's enterprises, and provide on-site technical and
managerial advisory services aimed at building up their enterprises.

The initial approach used was rather focused on the operational needs of the programme and
its expected results and only slightly met the needs of a young start- up, thus many enterprises
had strain in taking off as planned in the business plans.

Consequently, the profiles of coaches was completely reviewed to ensure that coaching would
provide the promoter with the means to cope with the socio-economic dynamics and other
changes related to the start-up or diversification of his activity and enable the youth to achieve
a self-sufficient and sustainable success of his/her business model.

For this activity, the PEA-Jeunes envisages to involve the selected incubation structures that
