Lesson(s) Learnt During The Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO)

Covid-19 is a pandemic which comes from the corona virus. It is a global pandemic started at
the end of 2019, caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

In Malaysia, as a preventive measure to curb the wide spread of Covid-19, the government
has implemented the Movement Control Order which commenced on 18th March 2020.We are
now at Phase 7:Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) from 10th June till 31st August
2020.

There are several lessons we can learn from the MCO.

Firstly, we must practice social distancing but we can still communicate with each other. There
are several ways to communicate without having to meet the people face to face, which are
through video calls, Whatsapp, Google Meet and Zoom applications. We look for an alternative
way to stay connected with each other. We also appreciate the hard work and struggle of front
liners such as doctors, nurses, medical assistants, policemen and soldiers who are working
around the clock to save our lives.

Secondly, we must stay relevant. We have to adapt ourselves with the new norm and find way
to help people who are economically affected. There are individuals and organizations who
actively raised fund to help those who are in need. We are playing our roles by staying at home
and keep the physical distancing at one meter. Apart from that, we also learn to take care of
our hygiene and cleanliness better in order to avoid the virus.

Thirdly, this Covid-19 pandemic teaches us to treasure our earth. There are less vehicles on the
road because we are not allowed to go out during MCO. Therefore, most of the organizations
provide an alternative way to work from home. People could not go for leisure activities as
well. Due to that, it decreases the rate of air pollution.

Conclusion; some of the sweetest berries grow among the sharpest thorn.
