EXPECTATIONS:

At the end of the lesson the students are expected to :


 Develop the students’ self‐reliance ,through technological knowledge and
skills.
 Helps students become worthy, productive, and responsible members of the
family and the community.

Warm Up Activity :

The picture below shows the examples different household chores, as a part of
the family what is/are your role/roles in the house? Do you often do chores? Do
you help your family in doing chores? Encircle the chores you do in your house,
write a short essay about it.

Overview of the Course

Introduction to Technology and Livelihood Education

Technology and Livelihood Education encompasses the field of HOME


ECONOMICS (H.E. (; INDUSTRIALARTS (IA (; AGRI‐FISHERYARTS (AFA) ;
INFORMATION COMMUNICATION and TECHNOLOGY (ICT).

TLE as a course has two streams -- the TR based TLE and the Entrepreneur
based TLE -- and every school has a choice as to which stream to offer, with
consideration for faculty, facilities and resources. Both streams are based on the
training regulations, but the entrepreneur based TLE embeds entrepreneurship
concepts in the teaching of the various subjects in HE, IA, AFA, and ICT.

Teaching TLE means FACTS , CONCEPTS, SKILLS and VALUES is there entirely.
TLE aims to helps students acquire meaningful and productive learning
experiences as the lessons are designed to provide opportunities to explore the
following fields: personality development, home and family living, housing and
home repairs, food and nutrition, food preservation, arts and crafts, sewing and
clothing construction, agricultural arts and entrepreneurship.
