 Cross peen hammer is similar to ball peen hammer in shape and size except the peen
which is across the eye or handle. This is mainly used for bending, stretching, hammering
into shoulders, inside curves, etc.
 Straight peen hammer has a peen straight with the shaft i.e. parallel to the axis of the
shaft. This is used for stretching or peening the metal
Sensitive Drilling Machine:
Sensitive drilling machine is a small machine designed for drilling small holes at high speed in
light jobs. The base of the machine may be mounted on a bench or on the floor. The machine
consists of a vertical column, a horizontal table, a head supporting the motor and driving
mechanism and vertical spindle for driving and rotating the drill. The drill is fed into the work
by purely hand control. High speeds are necessary to attain required cutting speed by small
diameter drill. The jamming of the drill can be sensed by the operator and pressure of hand
is released to avoid damage. The sensitive drilling machine can be used with the drills of
diameter from 1.5 to 15.5 mm.

Twist Drill:
A drill is a fluted cutting tool used to originate or enlarge a hole in a solid material. The most
common type of drill is the twist drill which is an end cutting tool. It has two helical flutes to
carry the chips away from the cutting zone. The twist drill is provided with two cutting lips
which are inclined at 118° point angle. The twist drill is provided with either straight or
tapered shank which is held in spindle. The drill size ranges from 0.4 mm to 50 mm.

Taps:
A tap is a screw-like tool which has threads like a bolt and three or four flutes cut across the
thread. It is used to cut threads on the inside of a hole. The edges of the thread formed by
the flutes are the cutting edges. The upper part of the tap consists of a shank ending in a
square for holding the tap by a tap wrench.
