RENAL SCAN
DMSA Static study help in 5 S
Site: ectopic “pelvic” kidneys
Size: Hypoplastic kidney or nephromegaly
Shape: Horseshoe kidney
Split function: Normal differential function between two kidneys less than 10%
Scar: The gold standard for renal scar “not in neonates or acute UTI”

DTPA / MAG3 Dynamic study with Time activity curve

The main role is to differentiate between Obstructive and non-obstructive dilatation of


pelvicalycal system.
In obstruction the curve does not come back towards the baseline after Lasix injection.

AUDIOGRAM

Audiogram:
• Normal hearing is within 20 db
• Below that is hearing loss:
“mild 20-40, moderate 40-60, severe 60-90 & profound below 90”
• Bone/Air gap means conductive deafness
• Both bone & air decline means sensorineural hearing loss
• Conductive more on low pitched sounds “low frequency Hz”
• Sensorineural more on high pitched sounds “high frequency Hz”
