1. Personally speaking Rizal̓’s greatest contribution were his books, which until today are
used by schools to learn to have a full of patriotism with serving our country and waving
the flag. And also, the use of his pen instead of arms in fighting for our freedom. Whereas
his weakest attributes is when he decide not to join the revolution because for him, pen is
mightier than the sword, means that violence should not prevail. In addition, he believed
that reforms to be successful should come from above, therefore, people were viewed that
he did not stand for the Filipinos.

2. There are events that could have contributed to Rizal’s ideologies and principles that led
to the enlightenment to us Filipinos, one of this is Rizal’s imprisonment in Barcelona and
later in Fort Santiago, before he became a target of the Spaniards officials, and he wrote
the “Noli Me Tangere” which describes the abuses of Spanish colonial authorities. This
novel led to enlightenment of the Filipino people that we should have patriotism and
nationalism to our country, this novel also promotes and established the grounds for
aspiring to independence. The events where Jose Rizal studied at University of Santo
Thomas and he wrote a poem “ A La Juventud Filipina” which he used as a contest piece,
this poem describe the Filipino youth to build up our abilities and use them to help who
are in need. The importance of one’s love and appreciation to our dialect or language.
We, Filipinos should embrace our own country and preserve the Philippines as a nation.

3. For me it’s yes, Jose Rizal was a pointy-head person because records and works that he
left behind would say so undeniably. He was professionally a doctor, and he as well was
a poet, novelist, painter, sculptor, was excellent in sports ironically, and a polyglot. He
was so gifted to the point that it sounds too good to be true for a Filipino of his time.
The highlight of his talk is to inspires fortunate Filipinos to use their resources wisely and
not for vanity, knowing he was from a wealthy family. Altogether he being called the
national hero is worth it!
