Innovation
Innovation is commonly defined as the carrying out of new combinations that include the
introduction of new goods, new methods of production, the opening of new markets, the
consequent of new source of supply, and the carrying out of new organization of any industry. It
can be defined as new or changed entity creating or redistributing value. Some common element
in definition of innovation is newness, improvement and spread. It is also often viewed as taking
place through the provision of more effective products, processes, services, technologies, art
work or business models that inventors make available to market, governments and society. An
invention is something original and more effective and as a consequence new that breaks into the
market or society. Innovation is more apt to involve the practical implementation of an invention
to make meaningful impact in a market or society, and not all innovations require a new
invention. Technical innovation often manifests itself via the engineering process when the
problem being solved is of a technical or scientific nature. In general, innovation is distinguished
from creativity by its emphasis on the implementation of creative ideas in economic setting. All
organizations can innovate, including for example hospitals, universities and local governments.
The organizations require a proper structure in order to retain competitive advantage.
Organizations can also improve profits and performing by providing work groups opportunities
and resources to innovate in addition to employee’s core job tasks. It is necessary to create and
nurture an environment of innovation. Executives and managers have been advised to break
away from traditional ways of thinking and use change to their advantage. Innovation by
business is achieved in many ways, with much attention now given to formal research and
development (R&D) for break through innovations. R&D help spur on patents and other
scientific innovations that leads to productive growth in such areas as industry, medicine,
engineering and government. Information technology and changing business process and
management style can produce a work climate to favorable innovation. An important innovation
factor includes customers buying products or using services. As a result, organizations may
incorporate users in focus groups, work closely with so called lead users, or users might adapt
their products themselves. Sometimes user-innovators may become entrepreneurs, selling their
product, they may choose to trade their innovation in exchange of other innovations, or they may
be adopted by their suppliers.

Latest three Innovations:

1. Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition (11th August 2020)

Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition is the world’s first mass-produced transparent TV. With
an edge-to-edge transparent self-luminous display transmitting images that seem to be
suspended in the air, this TV ushers in a new way to consume visual content previously
only seen in science fiction films. Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition is priced at Rs.
49,999. Mi TV Transparent Edition offers a perfect combination of cutting-edge display
technology and exquisite industrial design. For Xiaomi, it is also a major exploration of
future TV forms. When Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition is turned off, it looks like mere
glass display. The picture it displays seems to be floating in the air, merging the virtual
and the real to bring an unprecedented visual experience. Unlike traditional TVs that
come with a back panel, Mi TV LUX Transparent Edition creatively embeds all the
processing units in its base stand, preserving the compact shape of the screen and in the
meantime brings about countless technical challenges.
Xiaomi made waves when it announced the Mi TV LUX earlier in 2020, its transparent
OLED TV. However, hardly anyone will actually be able to purchase one, not at least
because it is only sold in China. The Mi TV LUX looks futuristic with its transparent
display, with almost appears to hover above its wide base. Its specifications are anything
but futuristic though, with a 1080p resolution and limited connectivity. The TC can
supposedly output in up to 120 Hz, but only one of its HDMI ports. Additionally, Linus
Tech Tips struggled to get 120 Hz working on windows 10, while Xiaomi restricts the
TV’s gaming mode to a warm white balance, for some reason. The TV that Linus Tech
Tips received also contained multiple dead or stuck pixels, which is even more obvious
on a transparent panel. Its 55” transparent OLED panel features a 150000:1 static contrast
ratio and an infinite dynamic contrast ratio, offering extra rich blacks and unmatched
brightness. Leveraging its DCI-P3 93% color spectrum support, Mi TV LUX Transparent
Edition is capable of restoring the awe-inspiring colors that bring images to life. Its 10-bit panel
displays 1.07 billion color combinations, an extra-wide color spectrum far beyond what the
human eye can perceive. On top of that, the TV comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and 120Hz
MEMC technology, providing consumers with smoother and clearer motion representation.

2. Samsung Odyssey G9 ( June 2020)
Samsung Odyssey G9 and Samsung Odyssey G7 curved gaming monitors have made
their way to the Indian market. Samsung Odyssey G9 is a 49-inch gaming monitor.
Samsung originally unveiled the Odyssey G9 was made globally available in June. The
Odyssey series boasts of high-end feature like 240Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time, and
HDR support. Samsung Odyssey G9 curved gaming monitor has a 49-inch display and a
Dual Quad High-Definition (5,120*1,440 pixels) resolution with 32:9 aspect ratio. It has
a 1000R curvature that is meant to offer a more deep and immersive experience. The
Odyssey G9 has HDR10+ certification as well as Nvidia G-Sync support. It has a peak
brightness of 1000 nits and a typical contrast ratio of 2,500:1. The monitor offers 92
percent Adobe RGB coverage, 88 percent sRGB coverage. Its feature include flicker-free
technology, Eye Saver Mode, picture-in-picture, game mode, Free Sync Premium Pro,
black equalizer and low input lag mode. For connectivity, the Odyssey G9 offers two
Display Port interfaces, an HDMI Port, two USB ports and a headphone jack. The
monitor supports 100*100 wall mounting and the stand offers height adjustment, tilt, and
swivel capabilities. Samsung Odyssey G9 weighs 16.7 kg and it costs Rs. 1, 99,000.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 is an overall good monitor. Its large screen provides plenty of
space to work comfortably, and it has a high pixel density to render text clearly.
Unfortunately, it has sub-par ergonomics and narrow viewing angels, which isn’t ideal
for sharing content or playing co-op games. On the bright side, it can display a wide color
gamut and gets bright enough to deliver a great HDR experience. The Samsung Odyssey
G9 is great for gaming. It has low input lag, a fast response time, and a high refresh rate,
resulting in a responsive and smooth gaming experience. It supports Free Sync to reduce
screen tearing and is compatible with NVIDIA’s G-SYNC. However, there are
limitations regarding its 240Hz refresh rate, as it’s only decent, and it has bad black
uniformity, so it isn’t the best option for gaming in the dark.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 is a super ultrawide monitor with a very aggressive curve. It
has relatively thin borders, a wide V-shaped stand, and some RGB lighting on the back.
The stands feet are very wide but thin, so there’s still a good amount of usable desk space
in front. It doesn’t support the monitor all that well as there’s a lot of wobble, but that’s
mostly due to its super ultrawide format. The back of the monitor has a futuristic design
that isn’t too gamer oriented. The stands white plastic cover is removable, allowing you
to hide the cables and route them to bottom for cable management. The screen is very
thick, and the stand also takes up a fair amount of space, so you need a large desk to put it
on. The screen is made out of decent-quality plastic, and the stand is metal but covered
with plastic shell. This plastic shell is fairly thin and feels like it can break easily when
removed; however, it shouldn’t be a problem when installed. Also the headphone hook is
pretty flimsy. There aren’t any issues with the overall construction, but it wobbles a lot,
which is somewhat expected of a center-mounted super ultrawide monitor.

3. Mi Air Charge
Xiaomi has just announced its New Wireless Charging Technology- The Mi Air Charge.
As a Step Up in its Wireless Charging Game. The Chinese Company has been one of the
tech companies striving hard to come with charging technologies that will make our lives
easier. The company recently introduced the 80W wireless charging tech that is capable
of charging a 4,000mAh battery in under 20 minutes.
The Xiaomi Mi Air Charge will dismiss the need of a wireless charging pad or any
cables and will charge a device remotely. This will be done with the help off the concept
of space positioning and energy transmission for the devices to gets their fuel. The Mi Air
Charge tech provides devices with 5W of remote power for single devices and works in a
radius of some undefined meters. There is also support for multiple devices charging,
wherein each device will support 5W remote wireless charging. Xiaomi has developed its
own isolated charging pile, which comes with inbuilt five-phase interference antennas,
which will help detect the Smartphone at a distance. The whole setup uses 144 antennas
that will transfer millimeter-wide waves via beam forming. Xiaomi has suggested that
even physical obstacles do not reduce the charging efficiency. The new Air Charge
wireless charging tech will soon work with other smart devices such as smart watches,
wearable’s, smart speakers and smarter home devices. The Xiaomi Mi Air Charge tech
seems pretty interesting considering we are all in for the truly wireless experience. The
tech further the tech further reduces our dependency on cables and wires and calls for us
to family use and sees how it works. This is a revolutionary innovation of wireless
charging. This is also a bold attempt to turn the whole house wireless. It’s not science
fiction, its technology. This is Xiaomi’s self-developed remote charging technology. On
the Smartphone side, Xiaomi has also developed a miniaturized antenna array with built-
in beacon antenna and receiving antenna array. Beacon antenna broadcasts position
information with low power consumption. The receiving antenna array composed of 14
antennas converts the millimeter wave signal emitted by the charging pile into electric
energy through the rectifier circuit, to turn the sci-fi charging experience into reality.

Xiaomi’s Mi Air Charge tech is only being showcased for now, with a Xiaomi
spokesperson providing clarity on Twitter by saying that Mi Air Charge is currently a
demo and is not coming to any consumer products this year. The company has also not
provided any details on whether its development has been tested for health risks.

d) It lets you use it as a window, or a partition divider in a room, or in front of
something else otherwise on display.
e) It works as an attraction factor for any window display showroom or stand.

Stakeholders benefit
Mi LUX TV Transparent Edition is not much more successful. The company is unable to sell it
in the market because it was unable to satisfy the customers. Similarly, when it comes to TV
design, the internet doesn’t tend to take kindly to any attempt to reinvent the wheel. The
stakeholders were not much more benefited by this innovation although it has transparent screen.
Customers didn’t want to buy this product because of its transparency. Viewer don’t want any
obstacles while watching as it as transparent so there can display two images. Similarly Plus,
they display monochromic images only. Similarly, the life span of this television is also limited
as it is OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diodes) and OLED is the limited lifetime of the organic
materials. Similarly there is color balance issue. The OLED material used to produce blue light
degrades significantly more rapidly than the materials that produce other colors; blue light output
will decrease relative to the other color of lights. Similarly, due to several drawbacks the
transparent television doesn’t succeed and became a failure.

Stakeholders benefit
Although, it has many pros but due to some reasons it failed in the market. The company
was unable to make this product successful because of its curve structure as it requires
large table to fix it. Similarly it can’t be attached in the wall like other televisions. People
nowadays, like to buy product which consumes fewer places but this product is bulky.
Similarly, the TV stand is also thin which can break any time. However, there are
limitations regarding its 240Hz refresh rate, as it’s only decent, and it has bad black
uniformity, so it isn’t the best option for gaming in the dark. It doesn’t support the
monitor all that well as there’s a lot of wobble, but that’s mostly due to its super
ultrawide format. Similarly, the downside style of monitor is that its curved display can
catch light from more angels. According to Samsung it is a gaming monitor but it lacks
the best gaming experience. As well as it is too expensive. Sometime we may notice
screen distortions.
