Abstract

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) is an impartial,


neutral and independent organization whose exclusively humanitarian
mission is to protect the lives and dignity of victims during the armed
conflict and other situations of violence and to provide them with
assistance.

The ICRC also endeavors to prevent suffering by promoting and


strengthening humanitarian law and universal humanitarian principles.

Established in 1863, the ICRC is at the origin of the Geneva


Conventions and the International Red Cross and Red Crescent
Movement. It directs and coordinates the international activities
conducted by the Movement in armed conflicts and other situations of
violence.

The last years have seen increasing attention by the International


Committee of the Red Cross for the problems faced by all women
and children in armed conflict, international and non-international, Its
shows this interest through activities carried out by the International
Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the field of the protection of
women and children, On the basis of the role of the International
Committee of the Red Cross, to carry out the tasks entrusted to
them. the Geneva Conventions are functioning humanity for the
benefit of children and women, especially in time of war or wars and
civil unrest and a commitment by the ICRC as a humanitarian neutral
and committed to its mandate, they did not wait for the release of
legal provisions for the protection of children and women in armed
conflicts before they begin operations, which aims to protect children
and women, in all disputes preempted initiatives of the international
Committee of the Red Cross ( ICRC ) approve the legal protection of
children and women. Where the International Committee of the Red
Cross give the children and women absolute priority in the provision
of food and proper clothing of their own, they are aware of when
providing medical assistance and food for children and women, it is
due to receive human help fit according to the amount of suffering,
and the associated priority submission as quickly as required by his
condition.
