MINIMALISM

- Before it was term 'Minimalism' it has been called "A.B.C. Art", “Reductive Art”, “Literalism”,
“Systematic Painting” and “Art of the Real”.

- Early minimalism was mostly inspired by European art. And due to its flexible complex, Minimalism was
quickly adapted into sculpture, painting, lighting installation, architecture and even interior design.

- It is an artwork composed of simple geometric shapes. By just using squares and rectangles you can
make an extreme abstract.

- The lines that connected with one another can act as objects and the painting itself results of structural
logic.

- It is called "Minimalism" because it perfectly described the artists’ minimal use of colors, shapes, lines
and textures.

FACTS ABOUT MINIMALISM

- Before it was term 'Minimalism' it has been called "A.B.C. Art", “Reductive Art”, “Literalism”,
“Systematic Painting” and “Art of the Real”.

- Minimalism's reality is the form of the work and from which it is made. (Like what Frank Stella
famously said "What you see is what you see." your own interpretation is the meaning of the painting
(?) )

- The idea that Frank Stella made no decisions in the process of creating the works, Black Paintings,
made it more unique.
