Course Objectives

1 Introduce students to methods of discrete-time signals and systems

representation and analysis.
2 Introduce design methods and realization structures of discrete-time
systems.
3 To understand the processes of A-D and D-A conversion.
4 To acquire some familiarity with digital filters in terms of design
and implementation and to become familiar with how various
types of filters affect signal characteristics.
5 Introduce signal processing applications using signal processing
development kits for a chosen DSP chip.
6 To become familiar with some applications of digital processing, and
to implement signal processing functions in Matlab and Simulink .
