Why are doctors prescribing penicillin less often in

favor of other antibiotics?

1.penicillin is old school antibiotic.

2.due to microbes changed their DNA, now not so

much sensitive to most of microorganisms.

3. Some people have higher penicillin reaction that

dangerous to life where other newer medicines do
not

4. Some other medicines are with lower doses

effective.

5.other then penicillin ,some medicines have long

higher plasma half life. this helps to decrease doses
per day.

Other secret reasons are..(not always true)☺

1.doctors are getting more commission for other
newer medicine then penicillin

2.compenies pushing promotion to newer antibiotics.
