There are 2 vaccines. One came in 1970. The second
was 2005. Only a small amount of from population dies from vaccines. The vaccines are for 2 different strains of meningitis. Children age 1 & children who live in dormitories are at risk for getting the disease. You can have an allergic reaction but normally the injection site gets red & sore. You should tell your healthcare provider what allergies you have. I wrote allergies in red. Very few people die from the vaccines. I have my nursing education & experience.
