Adam Hellewell, a student of Viewmont High School, is applying for the This Is Me scholarship in memory of
Elizabeth Pitt. I have had the opportunity to work with Adam over the past three years as his teacher and
director, and I give him my full recommendation. Adam has grown immensely in his acting, managing, and
scholarly capabilities and, with this passion for performing arts, has shown great commitment to teamwork,
bettering himself and others, and pushing through to the end, thus making him a wonderful asset to my class
and production teams.

Adam has a thorough understanding of the production process. He listens to the needs of the director, researches
his assignment, and quickly produces ideas for discussion and approval all the while showing great patience and
understanding in working with others. Adam strives to progress in his abilities through being involved in school
events and productions, along with outside curriculum and activities that fill his schedule. He hopes to further
his knowledge and skills in the theatre world as he continues his education working on a degree in the Theatre
Arts and education. Adam is very committed to this line of work and a scholarship would greatly help him in
achieving his life goals.

In addition to working events and performing at the high school, Adam has many other talents, one of which is
directing. This activity has promoted a sense of commitment and self-discipline that has helped him stay
focused and express himself. Constantly encouraging others, listening to their needs, and providing guidance
along the way, Adam has proven himself a trustworthy and dependable director, leader, and friend. Adam is a
quick study who takes direction and researches his choices to provide the best solutions for fulfilling the needs
of the situation. I have absolute confidence in his abilities and know that he will enrich any team he may be
chosen for. Adam is a bright, honest, hard-working young man, and I am sure he will be a wonderful
representative of this scholarship.
