Body
Moment of inertia: It is used to calculate angular momentum and it shows how rotational
motion changes with changes in the distribution of mass, that is why the formula for
moment of inertia is different for every shape, or distribution of mass. It determines the
torque needed for a certain angular acceleration.
Determine the maximum acceleration possible to move forward without losing traction if
the static friction coefficient between tire and road is 1.3, the car weights 3000 lbs. in its
center of gravity and it is rear wheel drive.
Conclusion
In this first unit I learned about kinetic energy on rigid bodies and how to solve problems
by finding missing values of either forces or acceleration by understanding how they
interact with each other and are in some ways dependent of each other.
