He died of eardiac arrest on August 4, 2020, atthe age of 71. Shri Mahendra Jain started from seratch and rose to be one of the leading doyens in the Publication industry of India, particularly in the field of competition books and magazines. During the last 42 years he started publishing Pratiyogita Darpan (both Hindi and English), Samanya Gyan Darpan and Success Mirror, besides a host of titles published by Upkar Prakashan, which have benefited millions of aspirants, competitors. It was due to his unremitting hard work and inimitable consistency that our magazines rose to the topmost positions. He was awarded with high honours and prizes forhis contribution inthe field of Publication and social service. In his passing away, the publication industry and the academic world have suffered a huge loss, which is hard to fill. The entire Pratiyogita Darpan, Upkar Prakashan and Upkar Stationary (Taj White) family pays its most respectful tribute to the departed soul and prays to God to give strength to the bereaved family to bear this loss. Dear Readers, Late Shri Mahendra Jain, a name that lives in millions of educated aspiring youth: many achieved desired success and many who are yet trying their luck. ‘Thenewsofhis passing away has left us in tears. He was a true Karm-Yogl. a visionary, amentor andan institution himself he has lei behind legacy and carved his name in our hearts. He was someone ‘we cannot even dream to live without. But this is life and we have tolive with it. A modest beginning to help Hindi medium aspirants with quality content, his initiative to empower common candidates with knowledge and spreading consciousness, bore fruits. In last four decades something amazing happened when youngsters in Hindi heartland entwined their fate with Pratiyogita Darpan and their faith made our Group what it istoday. Across India, lakhs of PD readers owe their success to Pratiyogita Darpan and compilation of editorials written by (Late) Shri Mahendra Jain are ‘heir treasure, their proud possession, Now, be it Pratiyosiia Darpan Group ‘magazines, wide range of books by Upkar Prakashan ‘or may be Upkar Stationary (TajWhite); there is something to touch each and every educated and aspiring Indian; a dream that was envisioned by him longbac!
