Solving the environmental problem

Recently I have heard a discussion about how people can help solve environmental problems. Two
talking points that were mention were recycling and using less energy or using renewable sources.

Firstly recycling can help us a great deal with solving some pollution related problems. For example if
people would start recycling we could avoid trash dumps that burn the trash instead of reusing it.
Furthermore if everyone recycles they are more likely to contribute in other ways to stopping other
environmental problems. Additionally by teaching people to recycle we also avoid producing too much
materials that could otherwise be recycled. This in turn leads to a more environment friendly and more
efficient industry.

On the other hand using less energy can also be a helpful strategy in reducing energy waste. One such
way we could do this would be by installing solar panels on roofs. Moreover using less energy could also
be a viable solution. In spite of all this individuals don’t waste as much energy as big companies or large
industrial complexes and by forcing individuals to consume less would just be unfair.

In my personal opinion I think that recycling would be much more efficient at an individual level because
we could truly make a difference that way. While reducing energy waste is always a good idea at such a
small scale it wouldn’t really make such a huge impact.

In conclusion recycling is a much better choice than using less energy.
