Tea Tourism in Iran

This proposal aims to provide a case for the development of tea

tourism in my country, Iran. Over the years, the rediscovery of several
sustainable tourism products has been a paramount demand in the
tourism industry. However, the discovery of one of the most ancestral
customs of my country s culture and tradition is yet to be fully
discovered and implemented- that is tea tourism.

This proposal is designed to improve tea tourism by designing a

database for the collection of all local tea yards which are mostly in
the northern part of Iran, together with a location and proper dates
for the tea festivals. In addition, these tea yards are located in rural
areas with beautiful sceneries and lush vegetation. Tea has been a
part of Persian culture since ancient time and Iran has been producing
high quality tea for hundreds of years. Tourists can enjoy the nature,
ethnic food, customs, and cultural folklore alongside the tea making
ceremonies and the process of harvesting, brewing and other
activities. Accommodation will be offered both in rural and urban
areas.

This proposal aims to attract both national and international tourists

to my country through the cultural taste of local tea. This is also a
great opportunity for villagers to sell their products and rent their
properties for accommodation. The factors such as the provision of
employment, tea, and food consumption, transportation facilities will
bring economic benefits also introduce our culture and environment
to tourists. We have to make sure that the preservation of both
cultural and natural resources is a necessity .
