FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SLATER FARMS ANNOUNCES EXPANSION AND NEW SCHOOL PROGRAM

Tifton, GA August 1, 2020 Brothers Mike and Alex Slater along with sister Sandy (also known as

the Slater Farms Trio) are proud to announce the expansion of their third generation farm to

now include a roadside farmer’s market, a barn for events, cooking classes and demonstrations,

a petting zoo, and a new program for school field trips.

“This expansion has been a long time coming,” said Mike Slater. “Our dad, Harold, talked about

it for many years, and mapped out exactly what thing would look like and where they would

go.” “We made his dream a reality,” said Alex. The new Slater Farms Farmer’s Market is a

roadside market that sells the produce grown on the vast 300+ acre farm behind the market.

Whether you desire fresh fruits and vegetables, or one of Sandy’s pies and want to learn how to

make them yourself, you can sign up for cooking demonstrations and classes that are now

housed in the new 8,000 square foot Trio Barn. “Not only is the Slater Farms Trio Barn used for

classes and demonstrations, we offer the facility for birthday parties and other events,” said

Sandy. Check the website at www.slaterfarms.net for more information on class dates, times,

and event offerings.

And if you’re up for a family outing, stop by with the kids and check out Harold’s Petting Zoo

where the children can come to play and feed the animals. And while you’re there, stop by

Sandy’s Kitchen for some other homemade goodies.

“While we’re on the subject of kids, said Mike, education was very important to our dad.

Agriculture is a vital part of our society, yet it’s not very well known. Our goal here at Slater

Farms is to educate our kids on the farming industry. Our school field trips do just that. They

include a lesson on growing watermelons, pumpkins, or strawberries (depending on the

season), a hayride around the 300+ acre farm, a visit to the petting zoo, and if Betsy, one of our

resident cows, is up to the challenge, a milking demonstration.”

There’s so much to see and do at Slater Farms. Visit our website at www.slaterfarms.net or call

our farm at 1-555-VEG-GIES for more information.

Stop by for a family day of fun and make memories that will last a lifetime.
