Area Study Center for Europe (ASCE), University of Karachi invites applications for
admission to the Master’s Programme and M.Phil/Ph.D. Course Work Programme in
European Studies (Morning) and Certificate Courses in English, French and German
Languages (Morning & Evening) for the session 2021.

WHY AREA STUDY CENTER FOR EUROPE IS IMPORTANT?

Area Study Center for Europe is an inter-disciplinary higher education and Policy
Research institute at the University of Karachi. The Area Study Center aims at
promoting the youth of Pakistan, researchers and professionals who wish to work in
Pakistan or abroad, through learning skills of different languages (English, German
and French). The Center also offers graduates to do Masters, M.Phil and Ph.D in
European Studies to achieve an International academic standard and to emerge as
competent researchers in the discipline.

 M. Phil and Ph.D. candidates must pass the entry test conducted by the Centre
with at least 50% score.

ELIGIBILITY FOR Ph.D. PROGRAMME:

Candidates must be M.Phil Degree holder in the fields of European Studies, Political
Science, International Relations, Sociology, Economics, General History, Mass
Communication or English.

ELIGIBILITY FOR M.Phil PROGRAMME:

Candidates must be Masters (minimum second division 50% marks in annual system or
2.50 CGPA in semester system) or 4-years BS degree in Political Science,
International Relations, Sociology, Economics, General History, Mass
Communication and English.

ELIGIBILITY FOR MASTER’S PROGRAMME:

Candidates must be Graduate (minimum second division 50% marks in annual system
or 2.50 CGPA in semester system) in Political Science, International Relations,
Sociology, Economics, General History and Mass Communication.

ELIGIBILITY FOR LANGUAGE COURSES (Morning & Evening)

Candidate must be Intermediate (minimum second division) in any discipline.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE:
Admission forms can be obtained from office of Area Study Center for Europe,
University of Karachi. The Last Date for Admission will be 31st January 2021. For

Karachi from 10:00 a.m. to 04:00 p.m.
