Quiz in Unit I. Instructional Behavioral Objectives

1. What do you think is the rationale behind the revision of Bloom's Taxonomy by Anderson &
Krathwohl?

Answer:

I think the rationale behind the revision of Bloom's Taxonomy by Anderson and
Krathwohl is to be more adaptive to our current age that will meet curriculum designers,
teachers, and student’s needs. In their revision, cognitive processes are presented as verbs and
the knowledge content are presented as nouns. Along with exchanging the levels of Evaluation
and Synthesis (which they rename to Creation). Therefore, the new proposed learning
taxonomy is intended generally to be used in a broader and comprehensive frames by teachers,
supervisors, educators, instructors, professional trainers, curriculum planners and evaluators
who intend to promote students’ thinking and skills, in order to be good thinkers, creators,
discoverers, builders, and critical thinkers, so they can live productively and comfortably in the
Information Technology Age.

2. Cite examples of how the concepts in the Anderson & Krathwohl revised Taxonomy be used
for K-12 teachers or in college teaching.

Answer:

Here are examples of how the concepts can be used for K-12 teachers or in college teaching:

 The use of action verbs to inform their learning intentions

They used different graphics that combine all the domains and action verbs into one visual
prompt. They apply it deliberately where they are pitching lessons and to avoid falling into the
trap of using the same old learning objective verbs all the time.

 The use of Bloom-style questions to prompt deeper thinking

The questions they use can have a massive impact on learners in making connections, moving
their thinking to another level and developing cognitively. A remembering-type question could be
“how many…?” Analyzing requires a question which prompts further thought, such as “what is
the underlying theme?” To inspire more creative thought, you could ask “what would happen if?”
or “how many ways can you?”

 The use of revised Bloom’s Taxonomy to differentiate your lessons

They use verbs resource and question resource to help them to differentiate their own lessons.
They apply higher-order thinking skills and verbs in class discussions. And they provide an extra
challenge for early finishers and develop depth for those ready to go further.
