Review Matthew 17:5. Introduction: (Hold up a washcloth.) What do you use a washcloth for? (Allow children
to respond.) You can clean the outside of your body with a washcloth,
but what can you do to clean yourself from sin on the inside? Let’s see
what the Bible says.

Presentation: (Show your Bible, explaining that it is the Word of God. Read the verse
from your Bible and describe how you found it. Have the children read the
verse with you from the verse visual.)

Explanation: The blood of Jesus Christ his Son—God sent His Son, Jesus, to take the
punishment for your sin by shedding (giving) His blood and dying on
the cross.
cleanseth us from all sin—Sin is anything you think, do or say that God
says is wrong. Sin makes you dirty on the inside and the only way to
have your sin cleaned away is through the blood of Jesus Christ. When
Jesus was nailed to the cross, He bled and died to take the punishment
you deserve for the wrong things you do. When you believe on Jesus,
your sin is washed away.

for making you clean on the inside? Think about what He has done for
you and thank Him right now.

But it wasn’t just the physical pain that caused this man to suffer. When leprosy was
suspected, he had to go to the temple priest to be examined. If the priest determined he

some very strict rules. See Leviticus 13-14. The
