Prayer of Confession Rev. George Haugen

God of all hope and joy, we speak of your great love, but we confess that we continue to live in
fear. We say that we know you love us perfectly in Christ, yet we confess that we fail to love ourselves
and others. You tell us to let the peace of Christ rule in our hearts, but we continue to live in
worry. Jesus, you gave your life for us, yet we go through our day without giving you a thought. We
have sinned against you. Please forgive us and cleanse us. Good Shepherd, restore our souls, and lead
us in right paths for your name’s sake. (Please continue in silent confession) In Jesus’ name we trust
and pray. Amen.

Leader: We are justified by faith, and have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. While we were still
weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
People: God proves his love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. In Him we are
forgiven. Praise the Lord! Amen.
