• The numerical order is used when writing a process essay
• You should write the essay in a descriptive manner
• It has qualities of technical documents. So the transition words like
“later,” “next”, “finally”, “eventually” are often used to describe the
process
• The chronological order is followed in writing this essay
• Clarity of narration is very important
• The presence of transition words are needed often
• Description of repeated steps to follow in fixed order
• The language should be lively and vibrant; you can stimulate readers
to continue reading
• Use different words to maintain flow
• It would be better to narrate from second person or third person;
better to write as follows: “This paper describes…” rather than: “I shall
describe…”
