QUESTION

According to Golder (2009) Creativity is a quality which exhibits itself in the way
in which people conduct their lives. Hence, a creative person exhibits the following
creative behavior: confront assumptions, exhibit curiosity, like to investigate new
possibilities, tend to take the initiative in most matters, are highly imaginative, are future-
orientated, tend to think visually, see possibilities within the seemingly impossible, are
not afraid of taking risks, prepared to make mistakes etc. Describe the relevancy of
each the following traits in the creative process.

ANSWER

 EXHIBIT CURIOSITY
Curiosity fuels innovation. Curiosity arises when there is a gap between
what someone knows and what they want to know. That is, individuals are
intrinsically motivated to seek out information. It is a mindset that can be
activated. Curiosity is the fuel for inquiry, learning and discovery.
 HIGHLY IMAGINATIVE
Imaginative means having or showing creativity or inventiveness trait. It
can also be described as a new set of synapses developed by the inventor, can
indeed be the spark for an innovation. Imagination and innovation are always
linked together. The mind of an entrepreneur typically has to revolve around
brand new ideas and brand new opportunities to move the business in a forward
direction. In order for this to happen, there has to be a concerted effort to study
the risks in entering these potential risks.
 FUTURE-ORIENTATED
Among the most important ingredients in entrepreneurship, maybe even
the most important is the entrepreneurial mindset. One of the most important
parts of the all-important entrepreneurial mindset is future orientation. Future
orientation is the practice of looking ahead and the realization that the future
(your future) isn’t written. More importantly, those who have a future orientation
deeply understand that not only is the future unwritten, they can write it especially
for themselves. It’s an awakening to the idea that your future is up to you.
 SEE POSSIBILITIES WITHIN THE SEEMINGLY IMPOSSIBLE
Creativity is defined as the tendency to generate or recognize ideas,
alternatives, or possibilities that may be useful in solving problems. A person with
a creative mind won’t look at a problem and run away from it but will try all his
possible best to solve the problem. A person that runs from impossible situation
can be a good innovator.
 PREPARED TO MAKE MISTAKES
Mistake is an action, decision, or judgment that produces an unwanted or
unintentional result. Mistakes are entirely essential to innovation. If you’re not
making mistakes it means you’re not trying things.Everyone makes mistakes.
Your challenge is to learn from your mistakes and not repeat them.
 NOT AFRAID OF TAKING RISKS
Dictionary described risks as a situation involving exposure to danger. The
biggest reason that people are reluctant to take risks is fear of failure. The truth is
that everybody fails. Everyone makes mistakes. Your challenge is to learn from
your mistakes and not repeat them. Effective leaders choose to innovate and
take risks, and they don’t allow their fear of failure to stop them. A careful
balance of risk and innovation, and collecting as much knowledge as possible,
will help you better innovate and take the big, smart risks when they really
matter.
 TAKE THE INITIATIVE IN MOST MATTERS
According to the dictionary initiative is the ability to assess and initiate
things independently. So, a creative person should have the power or opportunity
to act or take charge before others do. This may be achieved in a group session
where team members feel comfortable discussing ideas. It is important that
during discussions all ideas are valued and supported.
