Our agriculture industry should remain exclusive for Filipinos and all industries

related to
our natural resources and its usage. Liberalizing our agriculture industry could be
a
challenge for our local farmers especially that we should support them because they
are
the ones who keeps on providing us food that we are consuming in our everyday
lives.
Some foreigners might invest in our agriculture and exploit our resources in a very
unfair way that would put our local farmers and fishermen to disadvantage
situations. I
think instead of opening foreign investment in this industry, our Government should
provide more funds and support to our agricultural system that could resolve our
inefficient supply chains, the machines for food processing, the storage
facilities, and
things that are connected to our food security. In order to boost our agricultural
production, we don’t need foreign investment, what we need especially the laborers
and
workers in our agricultural field, is a higher proportion of budget, implementation
of
agrarian reform programs, and support for research and development. Opening this
industry to foreigners can lead to their superiority, and decrease productivity, as
well as
opportunities for our local farmers. Industries with correlation to safety and
security such
as police forces, military, or guarding facilities, and every profession that
includes the
usage of guns and other dangerous equipment or things should remain exclusive for
Filipinos to avoid security breaches. Also, we cannot risk safety protocols and
safety of
the lives of people for opening opportunities for foreigners in this field.
