2.3 Introduction
The KRONE rotary swather is equipped with all necessary safety devices (protective equipment). Not all potentially
dangerous positions on this implement can be fully secured, as this would be incompatible with full functional
capability. You will find appropriate danger notification
(= warning signs in yellow/black), indicating these residual risks.
The safety instructions are provided in the form of so-called warning pictograms. Important information on the
location of these safety signs and what they mean is given below!
Familiarize yourself with the meaning of the warning signs opposite. The text beside them and
their location on the machine indicates the machine's particularly dangerous areas.

3 Preparation for Use
3.1 Special Safety Notes
• When carrying out preventive maintenance, maintenance, repair and assembly work on the
rotary windrower always turn off the PTO shaft. Turn off engine and remove ignition key.
Prevent tractor and rotary windrower from accidental movement!
• The maximum driving speed is 540 RPM.
• Actuating equipment such as ropes, cables and hydraulic hoses as well as electric cables must
be installed so that any accidental actuation or contact with the tractor wheels is eliminated. !
• When lifting and lowering ensure no-one is between the tractor and rotary windrower or below
the rotary arms. High injury risk!
• Before starting the PTO shaft make sure that no-one is in the danger area of the rotary
windrower. Accident danger!
• Ensure that the safety equipment is properly installed during operation or while driving on
public roads!
Check lighting function.
• During operation the operator must not leave the tractor!
Instruct other persons to leave the danger area!

9 Wintering
• Before wintering thoroughly clean the rotary windrower.
To do this a water blaster is used. Do not direct water
beam directly into the lubrication points. After cleaning
lubricate all lubrication nipples.
• List all spare parts required and order them in time. For
your KRONE dealer it is easier to provide and install
the parts in the off-season. Furthermore, the machine
is then fully operational again for the coming season.
