I. Gerenal information

Samsung Electronics., Co, Ltd is a multinational company of Korea headquartered in Samsung Town,
Seoul and San Jose, California. The group has many small companies, most operating under the Samsung
brand name. To increase the competitiveness and approach to more customers , Samsung has established
the website www.samsung.com.

1. The process of formation and development.

Samsung was founded by Lee Byung-chul in 1938, it just a small trading company. Only three decades
later, Samsung Group divided and developed its industries including food processing, textiles, insurance,
securities and retail. After that, in 1970s, Samsung expanded more field including petro. Samsung also
makeing washing machine, fridge and more house appliances. In 1980s, Samsung focus more on
electronic by producing color TV, personal computer. And this is the first time Samsung export its
products to America. And now Samsung is one of the largest and most successful company in the
electronic industries.

II. Type

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd is a profit company

Samsung is a profit organization, the company was listed on the stock market on October, 8,1978 with a
sign: SSNLF .

The company is a state-owned enteprise according to Samsung C&T with owned stocks is 14% , state
owned is 39% and other ownership is 47%. Details are in the chart below.

1. Vision.

The vision of Samsung in 2020 is very short and easy to understand: “Inspire the Word, Create the
Future”. The Vision 2020 is to make the world become a better place, have a lot of of digital experience
through all the device and technology of Samsung, and to become a favourite, creative, admired by
everyone company. Give the world the best products and service. Discover new bussiness superficies like
healthcares and many more. Samsung promised will face new challenges and chances with pleasure

2. Mission.

Arouse the world with anvanced tecnologies stuffs and creations that improve everyone’s life and provide
to social success by making a brand new future.

3. Value.

Samsung always knows that living by strong values is the most important thing to lead to success. So the
important value is the core of every choice the comany makes.

- People: Giving people abundance of opportunities to get their full tension.

- Excellence: Develop best products and services on the market.

- Change: Set a sights on the future, steer the company toward long-term success

4. Objectives:

Become the top company in the world with the same bussiness. Produce the best products and service to
make the buyers sstisfaction and contribute to Society.

III. Size and scope.

1. Size.

In the Annualy Finacial Report Sheet of Samsung Electronics., Co.Ltd company on 31st December,2017,
total asset of Samsung is up to 266,8 billion USD. And the amount owed by the company increase from
$80,580.39 (Dec,2017) to $83,381.39 (Mar,2018) but afterthat it decrease to 78,186 million in Jun,2018.
About the Stockholder Enquity is $206,214 million in Jun,2018. Now, Samsung is a huge company with
total 320,671 employess from all over the world according to Samsung newsroom.

2. Scope.

Samsung has many manufacturing facilities in the world, available in more than 70 countries, 39
production sites, 35 R&D centers and 7 design offices in a lot of big cities like Califonia , New York,
London,.........The first product of Samsung is dried fish, noodles and groceries. But now, after 40 years of
construction and development, now the product range from televison, freezer, to smartphone, personal
computer and a lot of home appliances for everyone of all ages.

+Main Manager: Is the leader of the company, take resposibilities for all problems.

+Deputy manager: Is the person who help the Main Manager to control the company, take care for the
company when the main manager have the unexpected work.

+Technical Sector: The people who control the technical things that the product required. This department
also design the uniform for all the workers and managers.

3. Types of structure:

Samsung Electronics., Co, Ltd is divisional structure, divided into three divisions: IT & Mobile, Device
Solution and Consumer Electronic. Each of this division is controlled distinctly. This kind of structure is
very appropriate for Samsung because the division separate so it is easier for company to work.

Company’s strength:

Samsung invest a lot of money and effort in research and development, Samsung become one of the most
powerful company in technology company. Samsung always change thier product and design so the
customer have many choice to buy a suitable thing for them. The company also has enormous advertising
and marketing stragety to attract the buyers, nowaday we can se the alot of posters, signs and
advertisement about Samsung smartphone everywhere. People not feel strange when they hear:
“Samsung” anymore.

Company’s Weakeness:

One of the weakness of the Samsung company is the company do not have a stand in the market of
Personal Computer (PC). Other opponents like HP, Lenovo, Dell and Apple are famous leader of the
computer industry, much larger than Samsung, although Samsung can create good and nice computer like
Samsung Notebook 9 but it is nothing compare to it competitor. The second weakness is the company is
more and more depending on the American markets, because America is a big market for Samsung and if
Samsung want to make profit, the company have to suffer a little bit.

Now and Future threats:

The threats that Samsung faced at this time is the pressure of competition, the larger the company, the
competitive pressure become higher. And this can lead to higher pressure in products improvement and
marketing ways. Another threat is Samsung spend a huge ammount of money in research, development
and marketing, and this number keep inceasing. The last threat is difficult in legal and policy, and
Samsung can hardly to run their business in other countries.

Although Samsung faces many difficulties in the present and in the future, it can not be denied the
company's growth and success in the international market for smartphones in particular and electronic
technology in general. Whatever the case, Samsung will continue to grow and in the future will become a
technology leader in the world.
