I am writing in regard to the job opening as a cashier at the company. Since the position is part-time, I know that the
job is the right fit for me. I will be enrolled in Merced Junior College while working at Costco. I’m pursuing my
associate degree before I transfer to a four-year college. Plus, my previous experience as working as a cashier has
furthermore prepared me for this position.

I have worked as a cashier, greeter, photographer, and Easter Bunny. All of these jobs require an extreme amount of
patience. Taking pictures of children and working with their parents taught me people skills. Such as how to interact
with customers and making sure they have a great experience. As a greeter, I picked up time management skills. The
lines couldn’t get congested with people. I’d have to spend a certain amount of time explaining packages to customers
in a way that they would understand the first time so that the line would shorten quickly. This was a busy job that has
prepared me to be a cashier at Costco and gave me the necessary skills to be prepared for the hustle and bustle of it
all.

I understand that this job is in high demand and you all only want to hire the most qualified personnel. I believe that I
fit this description and will add to this highly praised company.
