1. What was the most surprising failure to you and why?

The most surprising failure to me was summer vacation ranking 97. As a student and
someone who wants to become a teacher summers are something I love. I thought of the
time away from school as time to relax for children. However, when I consider how
summer break looks different for everyone, that can change what kind of experiences and
routines you have.
2. What was the most surprising winner to you and why?
The most surprising winner to me was reciprocal teaching ranking 5. I have not
experienced reciprocal teaching, other than when others would share their presentations. I
now know that having students teach back will be effective.
3. What do you want to know more about that Dr. Deschler covered and why?
I want to know more about how the absence of disruptive students has enhanced learning
effects. I am curious how it can be transformed into the presence of them and what you
can do to try to make it better. I am assuming the absence of the disruptive students is
only more negatively affecting them. Overall, how can you make the classroom behaviors
positive for all students.
4. What can you use in the future from Visible Learning and why?
In the future from Visible Learning, I will use reciprocal teaching, feedback, and self-
report grades. I will use reciprocal teaching because of its effects on student learning and
the self-competence it can offer to students. I will use feedback because I know when I
do not receive feedback it can be frustrating and confusing. Therefore, using different
forms of feedback, verbal, on paper, on gradebook, it may allow the students to have
more understanding how they are doing and what they can improve on. I will use self-
report grades because students are aware of their own understanding and can offer
information on their learning. I would like to know what they believe is their
understanding and working together towards success.
