This document provides a series of riddles and puzzles related to different types of quadrilaterals: 1) It asks for the type of a quadrilateral with given properties. 2) It asks the participant to find and photograph a rectangular object. 3) It provides an isosceles trapezoid and asks the participant to sketch a quadrilateral showing that a parallelogram is not always a rectangle. 4) It asks the participant to label the properties of a rhombus on a diagram. 5) It asks whether a frame with given side lengths and diagonal measurement is a rectangle. 6) It asks the participant to find logos with quadrilaterals and optionally describe any transformations.

3. ABCD is an isosceles trapezoid
Quadrilateral Scavenger Hunt!
4. Al says, “If ABCD is a parallelogram,
then ABCD is a rectangle.” Sketch a quadrilateral ABCD that shows that Al’s statement is not always true. Your sketch must show the length of each side and the measure of each angle for the quadrilateral you draw. Quadrilateral Scavenger Hunt!
5. Mark up this diagram with
all of the properties of a rhombus! Quadrilateral Scavenger Hunt!
6. You have decided to make a rectangular picture frame with side
lengths 20 in by 16 in. You hope that your frame is in the shape of a rectangle but you don't have a way to measure the angles. You measure the diagonals of your frame and find that one diagonal measures 23 in. Is your frame a rectangle? Explain why or why not. Quadrilateral Scavenger Hunt!
7. Paste a photo of a brand logo that uses quadrilaterals. How many
can you find? Bonus points if you use transformation vocabulary!
