Research Methodology

Study Area: The study area of this research is Lwwangghale. It is  The village is
just about 30 km northwest of Pokhara. It is a typical Gurung Village, famous
for its tea garden. It is an easy escape to witness the majestic view of various
mountains surrounding the place. It is couple of hours away from Pokhara city, 
Research Design: In this research, cross-sectional, exploratory and descriptive
research design will be adopted.
Study Population, Sample Size and Sampling Procedure: In this research, the
study population will be all the household of Luwang Ghale. Furthermore, 20
household will be taken as sample size for this study through convenience
sampling technique. Data will be collected from the household head or any
member greater than 18 years. Then, for focus group discussion, 6 teachers of
the school will be used. The principal of the school will be used for the key
informant interview. Similarly, school will be observed for the observation.
Nature and Sources of Data: Both qualitative and quantitative data will be
collected for this research. For the study, primary sources of data will be
collected using questionnaire, focus group discussion, key informant interview
and observation.
Methods of Data Collection: Primary data will be collected by using structured
questionnaire with close-ended questions. Furthermore, the focus group
discussion will be carried out with the teachers of the school by using checklist.
One Key Informant Interview will be carried out with the principal of the
school. One observation method will be carried out for analyzing the situation
of the school.
Reliability and Validity: In order to check the reliability and validity of the
study, a pilot-test will be conducted.
Ethical Consideration: The consent of the participants will be asked before
asking them questions. For the participants below 18, the consent of their
guardians will be asked. The primary objective of the study will be explained to
the respondents in verbal form.
Method of Data Analysis: All the collected quantitative data will be edited,
filtered and endered in SPSS or Excel for the analysis. Descriptive statistic will
be used for further anlaysis. Output will be showed by using frequency,
percentage, cross tabulation, pie-chat, mean, minimum value and maximum
value. On the other hand, qualitative data will be analysed manually in text
form.
