What?
Work in groups, socialize and share information. Use polite and
proper expressions when you learn a new language.
How?
1. Always say hello and goodbye
2. Give your information but also wait for your partner to give you his or hers
3. Ask questions to your partner if you need extra information
4. Use expressions to be polite (Excuse me!/can you repeat that, please/How about you?/That’s
interesting!/etc)
5. Agree and disagree politely (I think so/Well, I am not really sure…)
6. Ask for clarification and help
7. At the end, evaluate if the conversation/interaction was nice or difficult

POLITE TONE-Use please and thank you. This person has


an educated way of speaking.

SHOUT/DEMANDING-Impolite and aggressive tone and


expresses anger.
TONES

RUDE TONE- A person speaks too loud and uses


inappropriate language.

SOFT TONE-A shy person who is quiet and speaks in a


calm way.
SUBJUNCTIVE TENSE

Subjunctive Phrase + Indicative.

▪ NECESSITY: I need my parents to buy me a car.

▪ WISH: She wants him to love her forever.

▪ POSSIBILITY/DOUBT: He doubts that his wife is


happy.
SUBJUNCTIVE PHRASES
