Date: December 16 and 17, 2020 HOT SPOT (Dribble/Shooting Game)

Equipment: 20 Dot markers, 16 small cones, 16 pylons, 2 hole hoops

C1. Movement Skills and Concepts
C1.1 - perform controlled transfers of weight in a variety of situations involving
static and dynamic balance using changes in speed and levels with equipment

Big Idea/Overarching Question

Rules of the game -
Divide Full gym into 2 playing areas using the tall basketball nets. Middle gym line
is the dividing line.
2 teams
Setup: place 10 dot markers in closest proximity to the basketball net (worth 1 point
each), place 6-8 small cones outwards from dot markers (2 points each), place 6-8
pylons along or behind the 3 point line (3 points each)
Each team has a collection hoola hoop where markers/cones/pylons are placed.
One shot per player per turn. Player dribbles the ball to a marker,cone or pylon and
takes the shot from this location. If the shot is made player picks up that marker,
cone or pylon dribbles the ball back, passes the ball to the next player in line and
places their marker, cone or pylon in the team hole hoop. Game continues until a
team collects all markers, cones and pylons from their playing area. Points are
tallied at the end of the game.
