Abstract

The outbreak of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has affected the lives of people all over the world.
It is particularly urgent and important to analyze the epidemic spreading law and support the implementation of
epidemic prevention measures. This paper inquires the possible correlation between the number of new cases
per day and the number of daily deaths in the Mexico. The data was collected from the COVID-19 data drop
repository of the Department of Health, Mexico. Pearson r was utilized to determine the correlation between the
two variables. The result shows that there is a relationship between the number of daily new cases and the
number of deaths per day. However, the correlation is not highly significant as the p-value is at _______
