SOEKARNO HATTA INTERNATIONAL AIPORT

Soekarno Hatta Airport was named according with two figurs Indonesian
independence proclaimers namely, Sukarno and Mohammad Hatta, who were both the
first President and Vice President of Indonesia.

Soekarno Hatta Airport began operations on May 1, 1985, Kemayoran Airport


(Domestic Airport) in Central Jakarta, and Halim Perdanakusuma in East Jakarta.
Kemayoran Airport has been closed, while Halim Perdanakusuma International
Airport is still operating, serving charter and military flights.

Soekarno-Hatta has an area of 18 km², has 2 parallel runways separated by 2 taxiways


along 2.4 km.

Soekarno Hatta Airport was designed by French architect Paul Andreu, who also
designed Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris, France. One of the great characteristics
of the airport is its local architectural style, and the tropical gardens in between the
waiting room lounge.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport has 180 check-in counters, 42 baggage claimers,


and 45 gates. Each sub-terminal has 25 check-in counters, 5 baggage claimers and 7
gates. Terminal 3 has 30 check-in counters, 6 baggage claimers and 3 gates.

TERMINAL 1
Terminal 1 was completed on May 1, 1985, located south of the airport, opposite
Terminal 2. This terminal has 3 sub-terminals. Each sub-terminal has 25 check-in
counters, 5 pickups, and 7 gates. 3 sub-terminals in terminal 1, namely:

Terminal 1A
Terminal 1A serves domestic flights and international flights.
Domestic Flights: Lion Air (for the trip routes on the islands of Java, Sulawesi,
Kalimantan, Ambon and Papua)
International Flights:China Airlines, Cathay Pacific, and Federal Express.

Terminal 1B
Domestic Flights: Terminal 1B is only for domestic flights. Only for Lion Air (for
departures and arrivals of Lombok, Denpasar, Sumatra Island) and Express Air.

Terminal 1C Domestic
Flights: Terminal 1C is also only for domestic flights such as Terminal 1B serving
flights from Citilink, Kalstar Aviation, Trigana air, Business Air, Airfast Indonesia.
TERMINAL 2
The terminal, which was completed on May 11, 1992, is located on the north side of
the airport, opposite Terminal 1. Terminal 2 has 3 sub-terminals, each equipped with
25 check-in counters, 5 baggage claimers, and 7 gates. Starting May 1, 2019,
Terminal 2 at Soekarno Hatta Airport is operated as a low-cost carrier terminal
(LCCT). All sub-terminals in Terminal 2, serving domestic flights and international
flights. 3 sub-terminals in terminal 2, namely:

Terminal 2D
Domestic Flights: Sriwijaya Air, AirAsia Domestic
International flights: Cathay Pacific, Kuwait Airlines, Lufthansa, Philippine
Airlines, Tiger Airways, Valuair, and Yemenia.

Terminal 2E
Domectic Flight: Batik Air, AirAsia Domestic
International Flight: Etihad, Thai Lion Air, dan Royal Brunei.

Terminal 2F
Domectic Flight: Nam Air
International Flight: AirAsia International, Cebu Pacific, Lion Air, Malindo Air,
Thai Lion, Jetstar Asia, Citilink international flight.

TERMINAL 3
Terminal 3 opened on April 15, 2009. Terminal 3 adopts a different design from
terminals 1 and 2, using eco-friendly and modern concepts. Terminal 3 is east of
Terminal 2. Terminal 3 has 30 check-in counters, 6 baggage claimer and 3 gates.
Terminal 3 served domestic flights and international flights.

Domectic Flight: Garuda Indonesia (domestic flight)


International Flight: Garuda Indonesia international flight, Emirates, Eva Air, Japan
Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, Vietnam Airlines, China Airlines, China Southern
Airlines, AirAsia, Korean Air, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Malaysia Airlines, All
Nippon Airways, Singapore Airlines, Sri Lankan Airlines, Thai Airways, Turkish
Airlines, Qantas Airlines, Qatar Airways, dan Xianmen Airlines.
