Fossil fuel is the main source of energy.

In some countries, the use of alternative sources of

energy is encouraged. Is this a positive or negative development?

We can not doubt that fossil fuel is the main source of energy. We also can’t
doubt that fossil fuel causes a variety problems about the environment such as air
pollution, climate change, and so on. Recently, some countries are encouraging
people to use alternative sources of energy. In my view, it’s a positive
development.
As you can already see, fossil fuel has high carbon footprint which is why it is the
main reason for global warming. Whereas alternative energy sources such as solar
energy and wind energy have low carbon footprint, it is eco-friendly, they can be
used continuously and will never run out. It also improve public health as is makes
little pollution and it creates new and stable jobs. Once Earth’s oil is used up, we
can only used green, carbon-free energy as our main source of energy.
However, there are some disadvantages of using green energy. Firstly, they can be
unreliable. For instance, solar panels require clear sky and sunshine to be collected,
so they can’t collect solar energy at night. Secondly, many people in areas that
have small connection with the rest of the world haven’t heard of them before and
that can cause green energy can not be used in that certain area.
Although renewable energy have disadvantages but they have more pros than cons
and with our technology, I think we can solve the problems with green energy. In
the end, the use of alternative sources of energy is encouraged is a positive
development and eventhough it might not be perfect but it will give us a better
planet and a better life.
