Confidentia Sealant Jumper

The Sealant Jumper on the face of the gate

allows the sealant to be transferred from
the sealant reservoir in the seat to the
sealant groove on the face of the seat
Confidentia
The top of the gate is lipped to accept the
lift nut.

Each half is half moon to accept the stem

as the gates travel up and down inside the
cavity of the valve.

The back of the gate has holes drilled

into it to accept gate springs.
The Gate springs keep the gates tightly
against the face of the seat at all times.
This prevents the sealant reservoir from
being depleted of the sealant.

Behind the compound fitting
and grease fittings there is a
buried check valve

There is also a ball check

inside of the fitting.

Direction Of Flow
Confidentia

As the valve is closed, some

of the sealant on the
exposed side of the bore
will be washed down
stream.
Confidentia When the valve is
fully closed the
greater pressure
that is on top of the
piston will push the
piston down. The
sealant jumper on
the gate allows the
sealant to travel
from the sealant
reservoir to the
Sealant sealant groove on
Jumper the face of the seat.

After closing the valve must be

backed off 1/4 turn to ensure
gate can float against the seats
Confidentia

With the Bearing Cap fully

installed the forces of the stem
and bearings react against the
shoulder in the bearing cap
when the valve is being closed.
Confidentia By unscrewing the bearing cap
approximately two turns, the reaction
shoulder is moved back away from the
bearings

Note the gap between the stem O.D.

and the backseat bushing in the
bonnet.
Confidentia As the valve is continued to be turned to
the right. The gate will contact the
bottom of the valve and the stem will
begin to rise until it comes in contact with
the backseat area inside of the bonnet
creating a metal to metal seal between the
stem and backseat.
Confidentia To confirm that the backseat has been
activated properly, loosen the slotted
bleeder screw and unseat the ball. If back
seated correctly the pressure will bleed
off quickly
