Fibre Channel over Ethernet

Bringing Your Critical Systems Together
Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE) is designed to converge what has PRODUCTS
been two separate networks, storage and data, into a single
architecture on the edge of the network. Ethernet

The InterNational Committee for Information Technology Standards SONET/SDH
(INCITS) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
are involved in developing standards for FCoE. However, many
equipment manufacturers are not waiting for the standards to be
completed, but are releasing pre-standard implementations.

Beyond the details of connectivity (such as addressing, encapsulation,

discovery and forwarding), is the challenge to achieve the performance and reliability of storage networks in
the FCoE environment. Reliable transport, flow control and congestion management are required to meet
the challenge.

Test and Validate:

• Interoperability with existing FC equipment

• Lossless transport delivery at line rate
• Priority-based flow control, congestion management and enhanced transmission selection required
to deliver performance and reliability

Anue Systems gives you confidence that your goals will be met through the power of objective, verifiable,
repeatable network test results. Use the only system that has all the elements you need to test FCoE.

• Flexibility to test standards-based or proprietary implementations

• Full line-rate 10 GB performance
• Native Fibre Channel interfaces (FC1, FC2, FC4, FC8, FC10)
• Storage protocol support (FC, FCoE, FCIP, iSCSI, CIFS)
• Fibre Channel frame sizes
• Native Ethernet interfaces (supports 1GigE and 10GigE)
• Target impairments based on Ethertype, FCoE, FIP and FC header fields
• Ethernet flow control
