Further, an apparent phone call was receled by Administration from @ member of LVMPD saying that Johannemann was accusing Officer Stevens of having some type of sexual retaonship with Mortis, thereby creating a conflict of interest. ‘Asa result of the criminal investigation, summonses were served on both Edward and Johannemann to appear in Henderson Municipal Court for arraignment on February 27, 2013. (On 3-14-2013 1 made contact with Edwards who advised that he was arraigned in Municipal CCourt and that he has retained an attorney. I tld him that inthe interest of preserving hs 6th ‘Amendment Rights, I didn’t went to speak to him about the details ofthe case. He further ‘concluded that he didnt want to speak to me without an attorney. I told him that i after he ‘concluded his criminal action with the court and he fat thatthe Officer had done something wrong, to callus so that we may check into R. He agreed. (On 3-19-2013 I made contact with Johannemann who said that he also was charged in Municipal Court. Johannemann said that he vas wiling to speak with me and began saying thatthe Officer Was tying to bully them into confessing to something. I could see that Johannemenn was stecring the conversation towards deals of the case, at which time I interupted him and told bhim that to preserve hs 6th Amendment Rights, I was going to discontinue talking to him about the case. T then advised him that when he concluded hs criminal matier with the court if he felt that the Officer did anything wrong, to contact me and I would ook into It. He agreed fo that. “This case is being suspended until after the court date of May 21, 2013, (n 3-28-2013 received a cal from Att Phil Trencheck reference his dient Johannemann. Said he Wanted TA to look into this case soit doesn’t become an embarrassment fr the City. Seid he was going to bring up the fact that Officer Stevens, or "creepy cop" as he called him, has a history of sexual misconduct in his past, during his cents tral in Muni Court. He also accused the victim of possibly being 2 prostitute because neighbors have seen numerous men enter her residence at different hours ofthe day. After he was tod that I would look into this case until after the trial and only if the suspects contacted me, he said that he was paid to do what he has. {, to get his cients of. Email was sent to C/A Elaine Mather and is attached. Upon further review ofthis case, it appears the allegation is that Officer Stevens did not have probable cause to arrest Edwards and Johannemann.
