Q.1.Find out more about major crops:Wheat,rice,sugarcane,and cotton in Pakistan.

Ans.Wheat:Wheat for bread is the main grain crop of Pakistan.It can be grown in almost any place
where the land is fertile.Pakistan is one of the very few countries in the world which can grow enough
wheat to feed all its people.

Rice:Rice needs heavy ,wet soil and a warm climate .It grows in areas where there is reasonable rainfall
but it still needs irrigation.The main rice growing areas are northern Punjab and Sindh.

Sugarcane: Sugarcane needs a lot of water.It is grown mainly in the Punjab and Sindh.Sugarcane is used
for making sugar and gut.

Cotton:Cotton is grown mainly in the lower Punjab and Sindh.This is easily the most importance crop
from a money export point of view.Pakistan produces about 10% of all the world,s cotton.

Q.2.What dishes are gram and pulses used in?Name some of the you have eaten.

Ans.Pulses are a good source of protein.Gram (Chana),(lobia),lentils mascot ,moong and maash are
mostly used.I have eaten gram (Chana) and lintils_masoor,moong.

being made in Pakistan.List the name of some companies that make dairy products.

Ans.Butter is difficult to store and transport in hot weather because butter is melted in hot
weather.There are many dairy products like bread,butter,cake,biscuits made in
Pakistan.Older,Yamm,and cooperative dairy farming are some companies that make dairy products.
Q.4.In comparison to India ,Pakistan produces a crop in much larger quantity .What is this?What is the
advantage Pakistan has in this regard?

Ans.In comparison to India ,Pakistan produces a wheat crop in a much larger quantity.Pakistan is one of
the very few countries in world which can grow enough wheat to feed all its people.In this regard this is
easily the most important crop from a money/export point of view.
