Application of Theories
(a) What values would you want them to hold? What type of ethical sensitivity would you be
looking for?
Answer: The hospital staff should take on and carry out the values of Utilitarianism theory.
That is, it should focus on the benefit of the overall population rather than the benefit of one
individual. For, example – A hospital is a place for treatment of the people regardless of their
background, religion, education or even education. The regulations should be in a way that
every possible case should be taken with utmost seriousness and the patient will be treated
with the most care. Utilitarianism considers the laws of justice and at the same time values
beneficence which is serving the most with the best.

(b) What basic ethical principles would you advise the Force to follow?
Answer: The ethical principles that implies to maximum good of the population is
Beneficence. And so, the hospital task force should always follow the principle of
beneficence. Beneficence is characterized as thoughtfulness and charity, which needs activity
on the portion of the nurture to advantage others. A case of a nurture illustrating this moral
guideline is by holding a passing on patient's hand. Also not only ensuring everyone is
getting the benefits and services of the hospital but also ensuring proper care by the hospital
for every patient.
