FCCLA Society Mar 4

This weeks FCCLA meeting was my first time attending a FCCLA meeting and I learned quite a bit. I didn’t
know this until I attended but the meeting starts with a opening ceremony that I found really cool and
interesting. I attached a photo below. There were a few speakers this week but the presentation that
stuck out to me the most was from Melanie Jewkes a Extension Associate professor at Utah state.
Ms.Jewkes taught us about extension in Utah and what extension is. She talked about how the country
calls FCS the FCS but in Utah they have changed their name recently to Home and Community. They do
the same things as FCS but also focus on a few more things that some people around the country don’t
consider FCS. I found her presentation really interesting because extension is something I’ve never
heard of before so it was really cool to learn about it.
