Sriwijaya Kingdom is one of the maritime kingdoms that once ruled on the island of Sumatra,
and was influential in the archipelago in addition to the Majapahit kingdom which was also a very
large kingdom. Sriwijaya Kingdom stood around the 7th century AD. The power of this kingdom
was very broad which stretched from the Land of the Island of Java, Coastal Kalimantan and
Sumatra to parts of the country in Malaysia, Cambodia, and Southern Thailand. So with that vast
territory, Srivijaya became very strong and famous in his time. This was used as a reference and
evidence by nationalists that before the Dutch colonial period, Indonesia was a unity.
